Appeal

Thank you for your interest in our Appeal.

The challenge is a daunting one, to raise £3 million for a new Sixth Form Centre and to have the building ready to move into by September 2014. The last ten years has seen the Sixth Form at FCHS grow from under 200 students to over 300 in the current academic year, with further substantial growth anticipated over the next five years. Rising achievement is certainly playing a part. Record GCSE results mean that more and more students are equipped with the grades to continue into the Sixth Form; and record A Level results are attracting more and more external applicants. Our collaborative work with St Michael's is also having an impact with a large number of visiting students here for part of their week. On top of this, the Governments raising of the participation age will see most young people continue in education or training through to 18. What this means is that we will need to be able to provide a suitable learning environment for up to 400 students within a very few years.

With planning permission in place and the support of the Diocesan trustees secured, we are embarked on a two year fund-raising campaign that will, God willing, bring the scheme to fruition. Our web-site will carry a wealth of information about forthcoming events and your support for these would be most welcome. If you would like to make a donation to the appeal, please click here and you can download a form which we would ask you to complete and send with your contribution. Donations, no matter how large or small, will be gratefully received.

Thank you
